Park City at night

From art, music and film festivals to culinary events – many of which are free and kid-friendly – Park City has earned its reputation as an exciting and culturally rich, all-season community. Theater is simply part of the town’s identity, as exhibited by the Egyptian Theatre Company and the Eccles Center for the Performing Art’s professional year-round offerings of Broadway musicals, comedies, dramas, dance and music performances. And Park City’s robust gallery scene, home to salon events, exhibitions and the monthly Park City Gallery Stroll, highlights the talents of local and national artists against a convivial backdrop.

Blissfully warm days and cool nights tempt everyone outdoors to enjoy Friday night fireworks, classic film screenings, picnics in the park, featuring strolling musicians, street performers and puppeteers. Park Silly Sunday – Main Street’s weekly open-air market and street festival – is a local favorite, with its hundreds of vendors, handmade gifts, gourmet food, live entertainment and unrivaled people watching.

Ardent music fans head to Deer Valley Resort’s beautiful Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater for a full repertoire of artists and summertime concerts. The Utah Symphony and Utah Opera’s “Deer Valley® Music Festival” brings delightfully diverse classical, opera and pops performances. The Park City Performing Arts Foundation (PCPAF) “Big Stars, Bright Nights” series presents world-class performances on the Deer Valley® stage. Additional options include Saturday Pops and the Friday Classical series.

For an epicurean extravaganza, the Park City Food and Wine Classic draws master winemakers, culinary greats and distinguished guests for a savory weekend of sampling that attracts the industry’s top culinary talent for tantalizing demonstrations. Indie film festivals pair screenings of small-budget gems with panel discussions and filmmaking workshops. And of course, the prestigious Sundance Film Festival thrills aficionados from around the globe.
