Dan was nominated as a Master of Values in Practice during the hotel’s opening year and was instrumental in executing the Montage Memory Makers scholarship campaign, rewarding the efforts of young humanitarians throughout the United States. The campaign received a SMITTY Award from Travel & Leisure Magazine for best social media campaign (2014) for public service.
Dan relocated to Utah from Beverly Hills, California where he had served as General Manager of the Beverly Hills Visitors Bureau. He also was Executive Director of the Napa Valley Conference & Visitors Bureau and a Director at the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau. Prior to representing destinations in the U.S., he developed marketing and public relations campaigns on behalf of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mexico Ministry of Tourism, Spanish National Tourist Office and Bermuda Department of Tourism. He also provided consulting to many of the world’s leading wine tourism destinations in Australia, Canada, Chile, Italy, New Zealand and South Africa.
He began his career as a soloist with the San Francisco Opera Boys Chorus and was named state champion at the Oregon Music Educators Association competition. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California in International Relations and East Asian Studies and his Master in Business Administration from Harvard University.
