At some point, Park City’s carefully preserved Main Street boutiques, lively bars and nightlife, cafés and theaters call every visitor down the mountain for a little urban renewal. For guests of Montage Deer Valley, a memorable outing to Park City – named by Forbes Traveler Magazine among one of the “20 prettiest towns in the United States” – is as easy as catching a short, scenic five-minute ride with the complimentary Montage Deer Valley house car or shuttle.

Annual Park City events include the illustrious Sundance Film Festival and Kimball Arts Festival. On the last Friday of every month, the Gallery “Stroll” highlights artists’ works in more than 25 galleries on Main Street.

Summer months welcome the weekly Park Silly Sunday Market and over 40 outdoor concerts and festivals including the Deer Valley Music Festival with world-class artists performing alongside the Utah Symphony in an unforgettable outdoor amphitheater setting. Popular tickets include the Park City Food & Wine Classic, Savor the Summit, and Tour de Utah, a spin on Tour de France.

Winter ushers in world class ski racing events including the FIS Freestyle World Cup at Deer Valley and the Junior National Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Championships the Utah Olympic Park. Five minutes from Montage Deer Valley is Park City Mountain Resort, the largest ski terrain in the USA for both skiers and snowboarders, complete with adventure zone, alpine coasters, zip lines and slides. Park City Mountain also is home to the U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix.

Consistently rated among the top ski resorts in the world, Deer Valley® has earned the top rating the USA seven of the last eight years (2008 – 2015) in SKI Magazine’s annual reader’s survey.  The ski resort, which first opened in 1981, has earned the highest accolades in the industry for its culinary offerings, grooming standards and guest services, Deer Valley® offers luxurious amenities such as ski valets, groomed-to-perfection slopes, onsite childcare and gourmet dining in three elegant day lodges. Deer Valley® offers customized lodging with resort managed properties, an award-winning ski school and the bounty of 300 annual inches of powder snow backed up by state-of-the-art snowmaking. Deer Valley Resort continues to maintain the 2002 Olympic freestyle venue and legacy by hosting the 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, with moguls, dual moguls and aerial competitions.

Deer Valley® limits the number of skiers on the mountain and at peak times can reach capacity. The peak periods are typically between Christmas and New Years and the Presidents’ Day weekend. While capacity may be reached on other days outside of these periods, tickets are generally available throughout the remainder of the ski season.  Deer Valley® is a ski only resort. In 2016, Deer Valley will be managing the attractions of Solitude Ski Resort, offering a whole new terrain for skiers and snowboarders alike.

The summer season ushers in a fresh new palette of activities, from lift-assisted mountain biking to the Deer Valley Music Festival.  Recreational pastimes abound in neighboring Park City and water sports are abundant on the adjacent Jordanelle Reservoir.

Among the many artful amenities at Montage Deer Valley are hundreds of original pieces of art by artists that are native to Utah as well as many others, all of whose works are truly representative of the culture and heritage of the American West. These paintings, sculptures and more fill the resort’s public spaces, guestrooms and residences, in keeping with the Montage Hotels & Resorts commitment to museum-quality art, particularly original, local art that evokes a unique sense of place. We have also developed a resort “art guide“; a 150 page, hardcover book containing artist biographies as well as information about all of the works that are housed in the public spaces of the resort. This guide will give resort guests, as well as any visiting art lovers, the opportunity to take a self-guided art tour, and to learn more about the fascinating collection of art at our luxury resort in Park City.

Fatali’s photographs are awe-inspiring works of art that capture the hidden essence of the Southwestern landscape. His remarkable affinity with nature combined with his unique understanding of light create images that are at once powerfully strong and spiritually evocative. His photographic canvases have a richness of hues and textures that harken back to the Italian Renaissance and a portrayal of light that rivals the Impressionist masters.  Twenty of Fatali’s images are on display at Spa Montage and the Fatali Gallery is a popular attraction on historic Main Street Park City.
