Montage Kapalua Bay Launches Immersive In-Residence Culinary Experience with Newly Appointed Chef Riko Bartolome
June 1, 2021 (Maui, Hawaii) – Montage Kapalua Bay is thrilled to take guests on a private culinary journey through its new “Chef’s Table in Your Residence” with two immersive experiences both guided by newly appointed In-Residence Chef, Riko Bartolome. “The Chef’s Table in Your Residence,” is a new one-of-kind culinary program on the menu at Montage Kapalua Bay. Guests can choose to have a fine dining evening, complete with fully customizable degustation style menus with live music and wine pairings or an open bar in the comfort of their residence, or enlist Chef Riko Bartolome to demonstrate a heritage cooking class, where he will teach guests how to make some of Hawaii’s most beloved dishes in the comfort of their in-residence kitchen.
“The Chef’s Table in Your Residence” was designed for guests ready to embrace fine dining and connection, in the comfort of their own space with family and friends. This new offering compliments Montage Kapalua Bay’s in-residence luau, an intimate, up-close event launched at the end of 2020, performed for guests’ Ohana on their residence lanais.
Chef Bartolome, who will lead each experience, originally joined Montage Kapalua Bay in spring 2014 and served as opening executive chef. As an award-winning professional, Chef Bartolome has traveled the US representing the James Beard House and as the face of Maui at several events. Renowned for his signature Asian-fusion style, Chef Bartolome brings over 30 years of culinary experience to his new position of In- Residence Chef.

- For an over-the-top restaurant experience in your residence, curate a menu of up to a dozen dishes created by Chef Bartolome and his team for two to 12 guests in Montage’s spacious residences. Fully customized menus include small plates and local ingredients. Much like a favorite restaurant, this private event also comes with live musical entertainment, wine pairings with each course, or an open bar. (Starting at $2,000 for a couple, not including the nightly residence rate)
- Participate in a heritage-cooking class to learn all about Hawaiian dishes and learn about the culture behind some of Hawaii’s most treasured dishes. Sample menus include interactive cooking demonstrations to make poke, poi and lomi-lomi, fashioned from locally sourced ingredients and culinary techniques. Along with cooking demonstrations, guests will receive recipes to make the same dishes in their home kitchens. (Starting at $800 for a group or a family off our, price for additional guests varies; not including the nightly residence rate)
