BLUFFTON SELF HELP

For more than 30 years, Bluffton Self Help has been providing basic needs and financial support to our community. And though our roots are in serving the generationally impoverished, our future is in supporting our families who are economically at-risk. With expanding services that include educational programming and leadership, we serve as advocates for those in need throughout our local community and beyond. With direct access to necessary resources, a deep understanding of our community needs and significant relationships to create change, we provide those in need with a pathway toward self-sufficiency.

DAVID HOWARD

David was raised on historic and picturesque Sullivan’s Island, a barrier island near Charleston, South Carolina. David started photography over thirty years ago and is self-taught, reading almost anything he could concerning the art form. He started developing black and white film in the laundry room creating prints in development trays. His progression included color film, chromes and then ever so slowly the digital world. David’s digital development is a traditional approach, consisting mostly of contrast adjustment, dodging and burning where his roots of photography were established long ago in that laundry room. The end product is an inkjet sepia toned image printed on archival art paper which will remain beautiful for generations.  Framed with museum glass and imported framing a complete art package with a classic, timeless look is created. The work speaks for itself and must be seen to be truly appreciated.
