June 22 – 25, 2022

Artist in Residence – J. Stark: Jess + Erik Holmberg

From their hybrid retail/workspace in Charleston, South Carolina, leather crafters Jess and Erik created aesthetically minimalistic and highly functional backpacks, tote bags, wallets, dopp kits, briefcases, and accessories. Together, with their eclectic team of music lovers, foodies, philanthropists, and creatives, they work in bridle leather, canvas, heavyweight twill, and waxed canvas. The designers keep the product’s aesthetic classic and simple, stating “We don’t put a pocket where a pocket doesn’t belong.”

Co-founder Erik Holmberg named the company’s products after his midwestern parents, who grew up in inner city Ohio, explaining the names “come from the streets they walked to school on, drove their 57 Chevy on, kissed on, rumbled on… It’s a tribute to them, Cleveland, the beautifully scarred years of youth, and to dreamers.”
