It’s been ranked the #1 barbecue experience in the U.S. (Food Network). It’s been called “a fantasy camp for coal heads” (Cooking Light Magazine). And now, the three-day bacchanal of smoke and fire known as Barbecue University™ comes to Montage Palmetto Bluff, during Father’s Day weekend, June 18 – June 21, 2020.
Class takes place three consecutive days at Cole’s, a handsome lodge and restaurant with a state-of-the-art classroom and outdoor burn area complete with a massive Argentinean-style fire pit. While preparing the icons of barbecuing and grilling (the class is very hands-on; everyone gets a turn at the grill), you’ll learn the five methods of live-fire cooking. How to light and control a fire. How to harness the flavor-enhancing power of wood smoke in everything from appetizers to desserts. And much, much more. Each class lasts 3 hours and is followed by an incredible lunch based on the day’s menus.
Weekend Package includes:
3 nights accommodations in an Inn room, Guest House or Cottage
Breakfast daily for two
A Welcome Reception for two
3 days of Barbecue University™ classes (3 hours each day plus lunch) for one
Rates starting at $1,495 per night
*additional $1,200 for second guest to attend Barbecue University™
After class, students are free to enjoy Palmetto Bluff’s many recreational opportunities, including boating, hiking, horseback riding, sharpshooting, spa, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, and much more. Did we mention fishing? Bring us your catch and we’ll grill or smoke it in class.
