June Well Living

PRIDE Month

Well Living is a celebration of the diversity of life and the people and connections that make our lives full. June will focus on celebrating and affirming the rights, equality and culture of LGBTQIA+ people. We also celebrate Juneteenth and honor the men in our lives that inspire us on Father’s Day.

We value the diversity of all people and the beauty that they bring to our lives. This month we will put forth our efforts by bringing community together to celebrate that diversity, share information and contribute to charities that can pave the way for a more inclusive future for all. The diversity of life and our connections with each other are integral parts to Well Living.

Below is an overview of our 2023 programming to provide you with insights into what we have in store for 2024. For additional information, please contact our Experience Planners for more extensive details on the month-long schedule of events.

“Off the Wall” Cocktail in Hush
Benefitting The Trevor Project
To celebrate Pride, Mel Albaladejo, bartender at the Stonewall Inn today, created a cocktail called “Off the Wall” one night while she worked the bar, listening to Michael Jackson’s song by the same name. “The song captures how I live my life and how I see myself. I live life on my terms, being free and throwing caution to the wind no matter what people think or say,” she says. Our team in Hush wanted to join in on the fun. Conor and Guy have each crafted their own specialty cocktail for PRIDE. You can order any of these cocktails all month long in Hush and the proceeds will benefit The Trevor Project.

Film Screening: Mama Bears
2:00pm, Hush
Emmy Award–winning Director, Daresha Kyi will be with us for the screening. Opening up the evening with a little background on the film and then staying after for additional conversation.
About Mama Bears: Spread across the country but connected through private Facebook groups, over 30,000 mothers in America—many from conservative, Christian backgrounds—fully accept their LGBTQ+ children. And they call themselves “mama bears” because while their love is warm and fuzzy, they fight ferociously to make the world kinder and safer for all LGBTQ+ people. MAMA BEARS explores the journeys of two mama bears and a young lesbian whose struggle for self-acceptance exemplifies why the mama bears movement is vitally important.
