Learn a little more about our exclusive fleet and choose the host of your cruise on the May.
GRACE, named in honor of R. T. Wilson’s sister, wife of Cornelius “Neily” Vanderbilt, III, celebrated her 100th birthday at Palmetto Bluff in March 2013. She has the unique distinction of being one of the last remaining examples of the early gas-powered yachts built prior to World War I. She has had a long history of colorful owners, which our captains will happily share with you as you cruise the May River.
The vessel was abandoned several times over the years, but in 1990, a partnership of antique yacht aficionados moved her to Fairhaven, MA, where a rebuilding project was begun. In the winter of 2014, Palmetto Bluff began a complete restoration that has brought GRACE to her current beauty.
PALMETTO BLUFF, a Hinckley picnic boat, offers a unique luxury boating experience for up to 6 people. The Hinckley name is synonymous with the highest levels of yachting. Craftsmanship rooted in Maine’s maritime heritage. Every aspect of boat building comes together to create an original work of art in the Hinckley construction. Hull construction, deck layout, joinery, salon and cockpit design are all integrated and rendered as a single concept. This is undoubtedly a memorable mode of transportation for seeing the sights of the coastal waterways.
