Ellen DiFazio

ELLEN DIFAZIO

Ellen attended Suffolk Community College after graduating from Hauppauge High School and went on to Queens College in New York where she studied fine art and education. After securing her dream job in the Patchogue Medford School District, Ellen pursued her master’s degree from Stonybrook University. She has continued art courses after graduating from many different schools and institutions.

DiFazio absolutely loved her thirty-year career in education. After retiring she began this new chapter. She had raised her two beautiful, successful children and was ready for the next phase. Ellen dove back into her artwork. The family built her a studio separate from the house. It has been an absolute dream come true for her. Her studio on Hilton Head Island is available for client visits and consultations. She still takes as many art courses as time will allow.

Amiri Farris Headshot

AMIRI GEUKA FARRIS

Amiri Geuka Farris is a contemporary, multidisciplinary artist who uses a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, video, performance and installation. As a contemporary African-American male artist, he blurs the boundaries between abstraction and representation, sculpture and printmaking and contemporary and traditional. Farris writes of his own artistic practice, “I like to see artwork that will take one medium and use it to do something else. Artwork that is bold, expressive and completely different.” In addition to being inspired by the materials around him to create dynamic and colorful pieces, Farris also looks to his own life as he creates works that are full of intimate personal experiences and examinations of subjects that are compelling to him, including issues surrounding diaspora, Gullah Geechee culture, memory and perception.

Blake Shattuck

BLAKE SHATTUCK

Born and raised in the beautiful Merrimack River Valley of New Hampshire, Blake now lives with his wife Lisa Ann on Hilton Head Island.  A creative designer and self-taught artist from an early age, Blake has worked in a variety of mediums, including pencil drawing, pen and ink, digital art and furniture making – with his focus now on wood carving.  Always his favorite medium, he finds wood carving a welcomed challenge that is extremely satisfying.  When Blake was a teenager, his grandfather saw him carving with a pocket knife and decided to pass on to him a set of wood chisels he had owned since the 1930s.  These chisels are still used and cherished by Blake to this day.  For years his artwork was no more than a hobby, only known to friends and family – other priorities always taking center stage.  Then in 2017, he decided to get serious about his art.  With the love and support of his wife and family, Blake began Shattuck Clockworks – a manifestation of his love for art, design and woodcarving – creating custom, one-of-a-kind, handmade clocks.  When designing his clocks, Blake draws inspiration from many sources, including the country, the ocean, wildlife, sport, history, world culture and more!  Never making two the same, these entirely hand-carved clocks are a labor of love.  He describes his clocks in this way: “…these clocks have to do more than tell time – they need to stop time – if only for just a moment.  A brief calming timeout – allaying some of the burdens of the day – like running late or having a million things to do.”

Stephen Kellog Headshot

STEPHEN KELLOGG

Stephen Kellogg was born, raised and currently resides in New England. He has four kids and married his high school sweetheart and he has written about them extensively on all of his records. Stephen put out a book in 2020 called “Objects in the Mirror: Thoughts on a Perfect Life from an Imperfect Person”, a collection of essays about what he has found to be the most important aspects of a life well-lived. His show has morphed into one with a fair amount of comedy baked into the storytelling as he writes what he believes to be true and tries to have a sense of humor about the stuff that hurts. Kellogg’s latest record, “Keep It Up, Kid”, was released at the end of 2022. Side B is a suite of five interconnected songs that explore the journey from youth to middle age. Side A is a note of solidarity for anyone looking for hope in hopeless situations. Stephen has played more than 2,200 concerts over the last 20 years, traveled Europe supporting Gregory Alan Isakov and Josh Ritter, sang duets with Adam Duritz and Rosanne Cash and he toured the US with Matt Nathanson this winter. He delivered a TEDx talk in 2013 that has led to speaking engagements for some amazing organizations and he earned an “Armed Forces Entertainer of the Year” honor as he has performed for the US Military as well as a number of children’s hospitals. Stephen says he has made music in spite of the challenges and managed to build a life that resembles that of his listeners in all the ways that matter.
